What data we collect and why
When you make a purchase
When you buy from our store, Shopify collects your name, email address, billing address, and payment information on our behalf. We use this to process your order, deliver your digital download, and send you order confirmation and receipt emails. We do not store your payment card details — all payment processing is handled by Shopify Payments.
When you join our email list
If you sign up for our email list, we collect your email address. We use this to send you product updates, new releases, and occasional promotional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
When you visit our website
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site — which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and where traffic comes from. GA4 collects anonymised behavioural data. It does not collect your name or email address. For visitors in the EU/EEA and UK, GA4 only activates after you have given cookie consent via our consent banner.

Cookies
Our store uses cookies. The cookies we set fall into two categories:
Strictly necessary cookies — these are required for the store to function. They include Shopify session cookies that keep your cart and checkout state. These do not require your consent.
Analytics cookies — Google Analytics sets cookies to track site usage. For visitors in the EU/EEA and UK, these cookies are only set after you give consent via our cookie banner. For visitors in the United States, analytics cookies are set by default in accordance with applicable law, but you may opt out at any time.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the following rights over your personal data:
All customers:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
EU/EEA and UK customers (GDPR): All of the above, plus the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California customers (CCPA/CPRA): The right to know what data is collected and how it is used, the right to delete your data, the right to opt out of the sale of your data (we do not sell data), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Data retention
Order data is retained by Shopify in accordance with their data retention policies and applicable tax and accounting requirements. Email list data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics (the GA4 default).
Data deletion
To request deletion of your personal data, email david@davidsides.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days. Deletion covers your email list record and any customer account data. Note that certain order records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes even after a deletion request.
International data transfers
Our store is hosted by Shopify, whose infrastructure is located in the United States and other countries. If you are visiting from the EU/EEA or UK, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Shopify maintains Standard Contractual Clauses and other transfer mechanisms required by applicable law.
Children
Our store is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at david@davidsides.com and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email to customers who have an account or are on our email list.
